The plant chosen as the Royal Horticultural Society Plant of The Year 2013 is Mahonia Soft Caress.
This accolade was announced at this years Chelsea Flower Show.
Mahonia Soft Caress is a medium sized evergreen, 4-5' in height and different than other Mahonias such as Mahonia Charity in that it has thornless leaves, so its ideal for a large pot on the patio, deck or for a smaller garden.
It retains the scented winter flowers, and the colourful berries which follow makes it a super plant for a smaller garden.

I'm waiting for these to come back into stock so I can get one for my own back garden...It's nice to have award winning plants in your garden....my plans is to put it in a pot, just like this picture thus I can move it around the garden as its season of interest approaches...
