A plant which I'm having a bit of a love affair with at the moment is the Azalea Mollis. The colour choice available is wide- including orange, red, yellow, orange and many more...and the flowers are just striking when they're out. Fully coating the planting, almost blocking out the foliage with the amount. And then they'res the scent....amazing, a warming fragrance, a subtly fragrance - not mad strong like a Lilac but fills the air in the garden.
So we've amazing perfume, cracking flowers and to top this all off Azalea mollis also have superb autumn colour. Azalea mollis are different than other azaleas and rhododendrons as they arn't evergreen, they shed their summer foliage in a striking show of reds, burnt oranges and yellows in the Autumn.
Azaleas mollis are easy to grow, meet their soil requirements (they love acid soil so a good working in off Ericaceous compost - just like Camelias).
