To encourage more people to start growing fruit in their gardens, I've started with perhaps one of the easiest and most versatile to grow, the humble Strawberry.
And to make it easier to start I've a load of free plants for folks to come and grab a handful and get started with. These are all year old runners from my own back garden, so this year they'll be very light if any with the fruit, but next year they'll be great. So save yourself a few quid and call into the reception at BBC Radio Foyle, Northland Rd, Derry (bring a plastic bag) and grab yourself a dozen. Think about planting them in pots, in a growbag, in a hanging basket, or in the ground...your call.
