In addition to the Red Salad Bowl lettuce we grow in these drain gutters, we also grow 2 drain gutters with this salad crop - Salad Burnet. Although Salad Burnet can get fairly tall we grow it in these gutters as a micro salad crop (it has a slight cucumber flavour) - and it goes down a storm with anyone who tasts it.
We sprinkled the seed lightly on some damp compost and worked it into the soil with our fingers.
