The kids had a great time learning about the historical context of the Lumper potato from chef Emmett, and really enjoyed assisting with the cooking...and loved the eating!!
The cooking was the penultimate part of the Living Heritage Project which saw 12 schools from across Derry-Londonderry build specific raised beds to which grow the heritage Lumper potatoes in. The kids from all the participating schools then planted, cared for and harvested their potatoes. Bringing them along with them to the various cookery events which ran in 4 different locations within the participating schools.

The Kids looked after their Lumper Potatoes from the Easter planting till they started to harvest them.
