A commonly used landscape plant, Viburnum davidii is a good all-rounder. Where your looking for something tough as old boots, evergreen and with a 'grow anywhere' attitude Viburnum davidi is your man!
Plant them in a cluster 2' apart for a thick blanket of foliage, and try to plant a few together to ensure you get the steely blue berries which are a delight in the garden.
St Patricks have them used an un underplanting to a tree, alongside the car park....so you can only imagine how many times they've been reversed over or stood on and they look mighty effective!
