There is a change in the happening...the colours of Autumn are starting and the woodlands in Derry are starting to colour up wonderfully....and the kids are coming on school holidays....so no better time to get out and about and explore these woodlands.
Let the kids take photos, learn about trees, take bark rubbings, gather leaves, nuts and lichens to chat about when you get home...and a wee walk in the fresh air may even help to tire them out!!
I have a full schedule of woodland walks on during Halloween Week...feel free to join me at any of the following locations:
Ness Woods
Monday 28th 12 midday. Start at the Visitor Centre.
Top of the Hill Woodland
Tuesday 29th 12 midday. Start at the main entrance.
BeechHill Hotel Walking route
Wednesday 30th 12 midday. Meet up at the Hotel.
Prehen Woods
Thursday 31st 12 midday. Meet up at the Summerhill Road entrance.
Gransha Wood
Friday 1st November 12noon. Meet up at the main entrance in Gransha.
All walks are weather dependant...if you can leave a comment below which walk you'd like to join I can then keep you updated on its progress. Please wear appropriate footwear, kids, dogs, buggies all welcome, but please observe rules of each site where it comes to dogs on or off leads and pick-up etc.
Each event is Free.....but it's compulsory that everyone brings a bag of sweets!!
