On Sun 9th December from 11am Acclaimed chef Emmett McCourt and myself will be teaming together with Broughter RapeSeed Oils to offer a unique day exploring local food and inviting you to make someone special for a seasonal gift or as a wonderful store-cupboard item.
On the day we will be given a tour of the Broighter Gold Farm (site of the famous Broighter Gold ring) and get to see how Broighter RapeSeed Oil is produced from pressing to bottling and get an insight into the processes involved, Chef Emmett McCourt will then hold a culinary demonstration on how to use the best of kitchen garden produce to make fantastic flavoured oils (a great way of preserving produce and for making best use of your grow-your-own produce) Along with Emmett Gardener Gareth Austin will give advice on how to grow the tastiest of kitchen garden produce to begin with....including tips and advice on container growing and growing herbs, peppers, chillies etc in limited space.
This is part of the developing Feast or Famine Food Tours, which Emmett will be announcing details of soon...
