I was delighted to have finally made it to the National Trust for Scotlands NewHailes Estate in Musselburgh. The estate is only recently under the ownership of the Trust and is undergoing some extensive restoration to the gardens and parklans, trying to reinstate the amazing designed landscape which once surrounded this mansion house. A designed landscape which was heavily influenced by Culzean, NewListon and Castle Kennedy gardens.
Restoring a secret garden in full swing.....fascinating project
and the path network which allows you to explore the rest of the estate is superb....next was the Shell Grotto!
Refreshment stop in the converted Coach House next....
