Tuesday night I was up at Glenarm Castle for a recording of the BBC Radio4 show 'Gardeners Question Time'. I took the opportunity whilst there to have a wee dander around the walled garden. Now I've not been to Glenarm since the Tulip Festival so I was expecting to see a great change.
There is just colour and interest everywhere in the walled garden, and no more so than the selection of Perennials on offer.

Bearded Iris are best grown in sunny, well drained soil. For wet soil you're looking for the Iris pseudacorus - the yellow flag iris
I don't know how I missed it but there is also some gorgeous Iris pallida argentea Variegata and some Iris Blue Shimmer which was just going out of flower (but the scent was still top notch).
Throughout the garden, Reg Maxwell plants everything in groups 3,5,7's etc this helps to get impact into the garden and allows for the space to be filled quickly
