Many lawns around Derry are in terrible shape....they are all a bit....well brown looking....I put this question to John Dempsey, Course Manager of Curragh Golf Club...
John said that the cause of the brown discolouration is the "grass has used upall its reserves of carbohydrate after the winter". I asked whats the best thing a gardener should do about this. "wait unitl the moisture levels rise and then apply a fertiliser".. So we've nothing to worry about then...just feed the lawns and the colour will be restored with gusto!
