Up on stage I had an absolute blast at the recent Summer Jamm Festival in Strabane. Since this event was launched in May I've been really looking forward to it, indeed it was my first ever event in Strabane!
I'd been planning sometime of what I was going to cover, and indeed how to incorporate local businesses into my workshop, so I was delighted that I could profile and highlight some of The Garden Centres quality plants in my event.

The event was very well publicised by the Strabane Council and Alley Theatre so I was delighted when I had person after person come up for a chat about their particular garden concern, such as here where I was presented with a bag of mixed weeds...one of which was Ground Elder (I think I'm encouraging the folks to taste it in this picture).
The combination of growing and cooking advice worked really well, here Kelly Rowan is presenting one of her dishes she made using left over mashed potatoes (promoting the Love Food Hate Waste NI message) and some garden delights.
The crowds were mental all day, and from 1-4pm I don't think neither myself nor Kerry stopped chatting with folks for a minute. Thanks to everyone who came along and joined in with the days fun.
